As someone who has been fortunate enough to visit the beautiful island of Tenerife, I can confidently say that one of the highlights of my trip was spending a day at Playa Jardin Beach in Puerto de la Cruz. This stunning black sand beach offers the perfect combination of sun, sea, and relaxation, making it the ideal spot for a day of unwinding and enjoying the beauty of nature.

Start Your Day Early
One of the best things about Playa Jardin Beach is that it’s open all day, so you can start your day as early as you want. I recommend getting there as early as possible (from experience around 8.00am) to catch the sunrise and avoid the crowds. It’s a magical experience to witness the sun rising over the Atlantic Ocean, and you’ll have the beach almost entirely to yourself.
Pack The Essentials
Before heading to the beach, make sure to pack all the essentials you’ll need for a day in the sun. If like me you always forget something I find making a list always helps, the list includes sunscreen, a hat, a beach towel, sunglasses, and a good book to read. Explore The Beach
Once you’ve found your spot on the beach, take some time to explore. Playa Jardin Beach is divided into three areas: Playa Jardin, Playa del Castillo (my favourite), and Playa de Punta Brava. Each section offers a unique experience, from the volcanic black sand of Playa Jardin to the rocky coastline of Playa del Castillo. I recommend spending some time in each area so you can appreciate the different landscapes.
Take a Dip in The Ocean
The delightful waters of Playa Jardin Beach Tenerife are perfect for swimming, so don’t miss the opportunity to take a dip. The water is calm and refreshing, and the black sand makes for a unique swimming experience. Just be mindful of the currents, and always swim in the designated areas.
